I was initially approached by a previous client to make a website for a cosmetic start-up, introducing K-Beauty (South Korean beauty) products into Australia. While I did begin building the website, I was also offered the opportunity to design their first launch of packaging for a facial mask.
The packing was designed primarily on Figma, exceptions being the front graphic and the back panel illustrations which I drew on Ink Scape.
This was a particularly interesting product, notably because I had to deal with new challenges, e.g complex vector illustration, legal information requirements for packaging and mock-ups.
I reached out to Blooms By Cecilia with an offer to update their website. Instead I got tasked with creating a landing page for an upcoming Google Ads campaign.
As with all my websites I began with a preliminary discussion about goals. For instance, are we interested in doubling down on current customer avatars? Or are we looking for new types of clients like corporate?
After discussing the goals, I began designing drafts of the site using Figma, then moving on to Webflow for development. In hindsight I would have chosen a more flexible low-code solution as the Webflow editing process has a learning curve for clients - adding friction to the update process.
In order to land my first clients I built out a small portfolio of websites using various different tools from Framer, Figma, Webflow, Webstudio, and Basic HTML & CSS.
