I ought to preface this by saying that had I been given a longer word count, this essay probably would have ended up agreeing with Thomson's conclusion. Nonetheless, this analysis goes against her assertions; in her essay, Thomson grants the premise that from the very beginning of conception a foetus is a person (she would most definitely disagree with this, but is granting it for the sake of argument). Even with premise granted she makes an incredibly strong claim that abortion is still morally permissible. My essay argues against this notion and thus if the foetus is considered a person is abortion not permissible.
