Arguably, my most well thought through essay I have written to date. This was written as coursework for my English Literature A-Level. The focus point was on comparing two novels of which I chose to compare F. Scott FitzGerald's 'The Great Gatsby' and the pre-selected text, Angela Carter's 'The Bloody Chamber and Other Short Stories'. This essay looks at the various expectations society has of men using the adapted fables of Carter, writing in the during the Women's Lib movement, and FitzGerald's interpretation of societal interactions in the 1920s.
